A deposit is a sum of money that is held in an account.
Deposits are often used to secure goods for renting or purchase, or to secure the full payment of a product or service being provided at a later date. In our case, a tattoo, and the time it takes to make your tattoo.
Your artist holds your deposit money until the time of payment for your tattoo as security against a cancellation or no-show.
If you cancel or reschedule your tattoo within the 24 hours prior to your appointment you lose your deposit.
The artist keeps the money for the time they set aside for you.
If you show up and get tattooed and everything is great, that deposit money goes toward your final total.
So, let's say your deposit was $50 and your tattoo total ended up as $250- on the day of your appointment you'll pay $200.
There is a 30 minute grace period, but after 30 minutes, your appointment will be rescheduled at a time to be determined by you and your artist- and also- you lose the deposit. Don't be late!! We might have appointments after you and that can really throw off the whole day. Be considerate to your artist and update them asap if you're running late.
Life happens. We all get that. Unexpected bills for pets or family can happen and chomp into your tattoo budget. Typically, your artist will grant a reschedule once before you lose the deposit. Chronic reschedulers end up paying lots of deposit fees though, so beware of that. Be sure to communicate with your artist about budget or schedule changes asap. Your artist will really appreciate you for that. This is our livelihood and our time needs to be respected just like yours.
